Ohio State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Nebraska
By Ryan Stano
This may not be too bold based on how the Buckeyes have played against inferior teams, but it’s something that I think the entire offensive line will take to heart. They were criticized heavily for their performance last week, including by me. They are going to want to fix that.
The offensive line struggled against Penn State’s front. They couldn’t open up holes for TreVeyon Henderson to run through. He eventually got loose for a couple of plays in the second half because he is so talented, but the offensive line didn’t do him any favors.
Blocking wasn’t the only issue that plagued the offensive line. Penalties killed them. Center Luke Wypler had three pre-snap penalties of his own. Quite frankly, he was really bad in that game. It made me question for the first time whether or not Harry Miller deserved to go back out there.
I think the offensive line heard all of that noise. I think they go back to being the dominant force that they were for the previous four weeks. They should be able to handle Nebraska’s defensive front without too many issues. The penalties will be cleaned up too.
Of course, this won’t tell us too much. Nebraska isn’t a good team. I want to see how the offensive line plays against the likes of Michigan State or Michigan before I declare them truly dominant again. Better competition will give us answers to our questions.
We stay on the offensive side of the ball for my second bold prediction.
