Ohio State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Indiana
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team forces three interceptions
This is a defense that has proven can take away the football. For all of their flaws, they can still force some turnovers and have done so at an increased rate in recent games. They seem to be in the right place at the right time to force some interceptions.
Jack Tuttle had an issue with interceptions last game, throwing two of them against Michigan State in their loss. He tries to make a little too much happen at times and that gets him into trouble. That’s good news for an opportunistic Buckeye secondary.
Denzel Burke has shown a great ability to intercept the ball and lock down a wide receiver. He and the rest of the defense could end up with as many as three interceptions in this one. I think it will be a combination of tight coverage and bad decision-making by Tuttle.
If the defensive line can get any pressure up front, that will only exacerbate the poor decisions that Tuttle will make. He doesn’t do too well with pressure around him and he starts to become a little inaccurate. That would make things easier for the Ohio State secondary.
Throwing three interceptions in this game would mean that Indiana isn’t going to win this game. Truth be told, they can’t afford to have any turnovers in this game. They have to play a borderline perfect game to have a shot to win it.
My last bold prediction has to do with that defensive line that I just mentioned.
