Ohio State football: Day hoping for big end of June
By Ryan Stano
With the recruiting dead period just around the corner, the Ohio State football program is hoping for a great end to its recruiting efforts in June.
The Ohio State football program has been very busy in the month of June in terms of recruiting. Every day there have either been unofficial visits, official visits, or camps on campus. Ryan Day has been very hard at work trying to make the best of his opportunities this month.
So far, the Buckeyes have only been able to land two commitments this month. They have given out a lot of offers but not a lot of traction has come from them yet. That doesn’t mean that the end of June can’t produce a volume, and most importantly, some quality commitments.
The biggest commitment that could happen is obviously J.T. Tuimoloau. He visited just last weekend and it caused a lot of hoopla. There are rumors that he could commit here soon based on what Jack Sawyer just did recently. A commitment from him would be great.
With the dead period just around the corner, starting on June 28, there is going to be a flurry of commitments coming up soon. This has been the busiest recruiting time in a while because the pandemic limited prospects from visiting schools until June started.
Day is hoping that Ohio State also gets a flurry of commitments. They are well-positioned with several big-time recruits. They just have to wait for everyone to be done with their visits. Of course, they are also hosting more recruits before the dead period starts again.
The Buckeyes will be waiting and hoping for the next five days. We of course will be all over any sort of commitments that do happen involving Ohio State.
