Despite June being a very busy recruiting month for the Ohio State football team, they haven’t gotten a lot of commitments from recruits.

The Ohio State football program is hosting over 150 recruits in the month of June alone. That’s a lot of prospects in a very short amount of time. With that many prospects, you would think Ryan Day would be able to secure a ton of commitments in multiple classes.

So far, that hasn’t been the case. The Buckeyes have only been able to get one commitment so far this month. I would have thought that it would be up to five or six at this point in the month. We are halfway, and several prospects from multiple classes have made official and unofficial visits.

Ryan Day is a strong recruiter. There is no doubt about that. The Ohio State football team still has the number one recruiting class for 2022 as of right now. But there still is work to be done. Day can still get plenty of highly-touted recruits in that class.

Day can still get one of the best recruits left for the class of 2021. He can still land J.T. Tuimoloau, who is starting his visit today. He is the best recruit remaining for the class of 2021 and is one of the best defensive ends in the country. Landing him would be big time.

We still have half of the month to go. Day could still make a run on prospects and have a really good recruiting month by the time we head into July. There’s no reason to panic yet if you’re a Buckeye fan. Day has a proven track record of success on the recruiting trail.

dark. Next. Malik Hooker still looking for new team

I’d be shocked if we were still sitting at one commit for the month of June once July 1 rolls around.
