The Ohio State football coach has had the best results of anyone else in the Big Ten last season. Yet, he wasn’t even the highest-paid coach in the conference.

Ryan Day has done a great job since taking over the Ohio State football program. Since taking over full-time, he has yet to lose a regular-season game. He has won the Big Ten both years and has made two College Football Playoffs, then of course he made the national title last year.

Even with all of those accolades, Day still wasn’t the highest-paid coach in the conference last season. Day only made $5.6 million a year ago. Meanwhile, Jim Harbaugh made just over $8 million a year ago and won half the games Day did.

Harbaugh was the most overpaid coach in college football last season. That has been corrected a bit with his new contract extension. Even so, Day was only the 10th highest-paid coach in all of college football last season. You would think that would be higher from his results.

Ryan Day’s results with the Ohio State football team are way better than Harbaugh’s with TTUN.

There will come a time that Day will get paid higher. He will be one of the top-five paid coaches in the FBS soon. Even so, it’s great that Ohio State doesn’t have to dole out a ton of money to get some of the results that he can get. Any way they can save money is nice.

Day will still get these great results year after year because of his great recruiting. Those results will ultimately result in him making a lot more money. Ohio State will have to eventually pay him close to 8 or $9 million to keep him from leaving to head to the NFL.

Next. Should Quinn Ewers start immediately?. dark

It’s hilarious that the guy who has yet to beat Ohio State got paid more than the guy who has kicked his butt year after year. That result certainly won’t change either.
