TTUN cancels game vs. Ohio State, shows cowardice
By Ryan Stano
We feared this might happen, and unfortunately, it has come to fruition. Ohio State will not play TTUN this year due to COVID.
I really thought they would try to play. Ohio State was able to play last week without 23 players and dominate. Apparently, TTUN is not able to do the same thing. Kirk Herbstreit said they would wave the white flag and not play the Buckeyes, and it appears he is right.
The Game has officially been canceled because of COVID cases within the Michigan program. Ohio State now will have only five games played this season and as of now is ineligible for the Big Ten championship. That is of course if the Big Ten doesn’t change their six-game rule.
Ohio State was poised to absolutely obliterate TTUN and they knew that. They decided to use their limited amount of COVID cases, which according to sources are less than there were inside of Ohio State’s program, as an excuse to not get embarrassed on national television again.
TTUN is afraid to lose to Ohio State yet again.
It’s clear that TTUN is just afraid to play the Buckeyes. It’s also clear that they are intentionally trying to sabotage the Buckeyes’ ability to make the College Football Playoff. They know they have no shot to win, so they want to make sure the Buckeyes get the worst possible outcome.
It’s an incredibly infuriating chapter of this long and storied rivalry. What I do know for certain is that Ryan Day is going to eviscerate TTUN next season when they play. I truly believe that 100 points are possible, even with the Buckeyes having a new quarterback next season.
This is a day that will be remembered that TTUN showed the biggest amount of cowardice ever shown in the rivalry under the guise of keeping it’s student-athletes safe. They could easily have played this game and just taken their beating. Now they’re going to receive beatdowns forever.
