Even though no formal re-vote has happened, Ohio State is still prepping just in case they have to play starting in October.

Ohio State has been fighting hard to keep hope alive for a Fall season. When I say Fall season, I mean one that starts in early to mid-October. A season that starts then would allow Ohio State to still have a chance to make the CFP and win a national championship.

Right now, no such plan exists. The Big Ten is still committed to a Spring season, although rumors have popped up of a re-vote. If that re-vote does happen, the Buckeyes would need some help on swinging votes to their side. Meanwhile, they are still practicing hard.

It is true that all Big Ten teams still get limited time to practice and use pads. But Ohio State’s coaching staff is still making sure that the team would be ready in case of an October start. That would just be a month away. They are trying to keep the team sharp.

A month should be enough time to get the players into game shape. That would be the second-biggest concern beyond COVID. But they are college kids and should be able to get themselves into peak game shape pretty quickly. That is what this month is all about.

Next. 2020 football season will be remembered forever. dark

If there is no vote by the end of the weekend, then the coaching staff won’t need to worry about that. They can just take things easy because it will be too late by then. It’s just a shame that the Buckeyes are even in this position because of failed leadership within the conference.
