The NFL Draft begins tonight and as always there are Ohio State football players who should hear their names called early. A couple of others have hopes of sneaking into the first round as well.

There has been a ton of NFL mock drafts throughout the off-season and all looking forward to what begins tonight. Some NFL teams will be looking for a brighter future while contenders will be looking to fill in holes on their roster.

Even though the NFL Draft will be unattended and completely virtual, many former Ohio State players will see their dreams come true by the end of the weekend. There are Buckeyes who are locks to be first-round picks and others are on the fringes.

NFL Mock Draft Database looks at all the different mock drafts and compiles them together to create a Consensus Mock Draft. This is primarily where I am basing these projections.

LOCKS

The names we have been hearing about all off-season are Chase Young and Jeff Okudah. Both of these players were studs at Ohio State and helped propel the Buckeyes to a College Football Playoff berth this past year.

Chase Young is considered by many to be the best player coming out this year and NFL Mock Draft Database has him going at No. 2 overall.

More from Ohio State Football

Jeff Okudah is right behind at No. 3 after developing into a lock down corner this past season.

Having two of the top three overall picks will continue to show the Buckeyes know how to develop talent, and should help recruiting stay at an all-time high level.

Other players who have widely been viewed as second round talent are J.K. Dobbins and Damon Arnette.

I have already written about how J.K. Dobbins is the best running back in the class, so I won’t go too much deeper into that here. I would not be surprised to see Dobbins go in the back-end of the first round tonight.

Next. Former three-star recruits will soon earn paychecks. dark

Do you think anyone else sneaks into the first round? How many Buckeyes do you think go overall in the draft?
