No. 2: Jack Miller wins the QB competition in 2021

Justin Fields is expected to be a Heisman trophy front-runner in 2020 and with another solid season he should solidify himself as a first round NFL draft pick come next April. That will leave a competition between two second year players in Jack Miller and CJ Stroud.

Two great quarterback recruits Ryan Day landed for his 2020 recruiting class. This will shape up to be a battle of epic proportions.

While all they hype has been on Stroud as of late, and rightfully so as he earned a five-star rating from 247Sports, Miller has been steadfast on his Buckeye commitment and Ryan Day knows it. Day praised Miller’s loyalty to the program throughout the recruiting process and loves the fact that Miller wanted to be a Buckeye early on.

People also tend to forget that Miller was ranked as high as the No. 2 quarterback in this class before injuries hit and hurt his abilities to compete at the Elite 11 quarterback camp.

Jack Miller was Ryan Day’s hand-picked quarterback for this class as he recruited him hard early in this process. And Miller is coming into Ohio State finally healthy and ready to compete.

None of that matters however when these two start battling for position. And it starts now as there will be a three-way royal rumble for the backup quarterback spot between these two and Gunnar Hoak.

I fully expect to see a great competition for the starting job in the offseason of 2021 but in the end I believe it will be Jack Miller under center to start game one of the season.
