With National Signing Day now behind us it is time to take a look at the Ohio State football team’s 2020 class and make three predictions.

The Ohio State football team did not make any unexpected big splashes on National Signing Day, instead they wrapped up their 2020 class by officially adding four-star athlete Cameron Martinez.

Martinez is a weapon that coach Ryan Day can deploy on either side of the ball. A gifted athlete, especially with the ball in his hands, Martinez was a two-time Michigan football player of the year.

Expect to se him play both slot corner and possibly H-back as he start his Buckeye career. What about the rest of the class?

Here are three bold predictions for the 2020 recruiting class moving forward.

No.1: Jaxson Smith-Njigba has a better OSU career than Julian Fleming.

Now that is not to say I don’t believe Julian Fleming is going to be a great player at Ohio State. In fact, I believe Fleming has future first round NFL draft pick written all over him.

This just boiled down to production within the offense, and with Jaxson Smith-Njigba projected as the next KJ HIll at the H-back role, look for him to put up some monster numbers.

With Hill gone to the NFL and no clear-cut replacement for him within this Buckeye offense, Smith-Njigba has a chance to see early playing time at the spot. And judging by the numbers Hill put up in four seasons at that position, Smith-Njiba can possibly do the same. Hill enters the NFL Draft this spring as Ohio State’s all time career leader in receptions.

While Fleming will probably be playing on the outside putting up solid numbers, Smith-Njigba will dominate the middle of the field during his Ohio State tenure. If he stays for four seasons, I would expect him to make a run at KJ Hill’s all-time receptions record.
