Ohio State Football: Fields’ career day leads Buckeyes to 56-21 win

Ohio State Stats:
Fields had a career-high 305 yards through the air on 15-of-19 pass attempts and four touchdowns. Fields also rushed for 30 yards on three carries. Chris Chugunov finished 5-of-14 for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Gunnar Hoak was one-for-one for 11 yards.
Dobbins had 17 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman Steele Chambers had nine carries for 56 yards while Master Teague III had 10 carries for 45 yards.
Chris Olave had the highest receiving yards, plus a spectacular hands-between-the-legs catch at the beginning of the third. He finished with four receptions for 139 yards.
Meanwhile, K.J. Hill, Binjimen Victor, Jaelen Gill, Luke Farrell, and Jake Hausmann combined for 208 yards and scored six total touchdowns.
The Ohio State defense had a total of 73 total tackles, 35 of them being solo, one sack, eight tackles for a loss and three pass deflections. Linebacker K’ Vaughan Pope and cornerback Shaun Wade also picked off Langan.

It was another struggling day for the Rutgers offense. Langan was 12-of-26 for 121 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Langan also rushed for 36 yards on nine carries and scored one touchdown on the ground.
Running Back Isaih Pacheco had 17 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown. Kay’Ron Adams had eight carries for 17 yards. Adams also had one reception for 41 yards. Bo Melton had three receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Rutgers defense had 81 total tackles, 29 of them being solo, one sack, five tackles which were for a loss, and four pass deflections. The defense, however, gave up 594 yards as this was all Ohio State from the beginning.

Ohio State (10-0, 7-0 in Big Ten) with the return of Chase Young, will head back to the Horseshoe where they will host the ninth-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions (9-1, 6-1 in BIG 10). Kickoff is set for noon on FOX.
Rutgers (2-8, 0-7 in Big Ten), hosts Michigan State (4-6, 2-5 in Big Ten). Kickoff is also set for noon on the Big Ten Network.
