After playing Penn State, the next game is against rival Michigan who I believe is the biggest threat to Ohio State in the Big Ten. Mathematically, the Wolverines have virtually no chance of winning the Big Ten East, but they can still play the spoiler.

The reason I say Michigan is the biggest threat is because of the spot they are in for The Game.

I believe Ohio State is the superior team talent-wise, especially considering speed in space. But the Buckeyes host the Nittany Lions the week prior in what has been a highly emotional game over the past three seasons.

Of course, there’s no way Ohio State will have an emotional let down against their biggest rival, but they will be coming off a physical contest and entering the most physical football game of the year.

Michigan will also be at home and it’s going to be a desperation attempt at a victory for Jim Harbaugh against a first-year head coach in Ryan Day, which adds to the complexity.

The Game feels like an “If not now, then when?” for the Wolverines for the second straight year, but the answer to that question is likely still going to be when.

Michigan has been gaining confidence over the last few weeks and has also blown out Notre Dame in the process. But this may be the most complete Ohio State team in school history and the Buckeyes are performing at an elite historic level on a weekly basis.

I don’t foresee either team slowing down the high-speed locomotive that is Ohio State football in 2019, but the Buckeyes biggest threat to play spoiler to them is that team up north.
