Bonus: Week 14 Special (all games Nov. 30)

# 4 Ohio State at #16 Michigan:

  • The Game is almost always down-to-the-wire, and if Michigan can get through a tough slate (at Penn State, home against Notre Dame and Michigan State), the 2019 version of The Game could be 11-0 versus 10-1 and could still determine the Big Ten East.

More from Ohio State Football

# 1 Alabama at #11 Auburn:

  • The Iron Bowl, like The Game, is a tenacious rivalry game. If the Auburn can get through a road game against LSU and home game against Georgia, the hype for this game would be the biggest it’s been since 2013, when the Tigers were 10-1 and the Crimson Tide was 11-0.

 # 6 Wisconsin at #20 Minnesota

  • The Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe could determine the Big Ten West race for the first time ever. If Minnesota can get through Penn State and Iowa, both teams will have a chance to win the West and maybe even compete for a spot in the CFP.

Moving forward, the biggest match-ups will be in the Big Ten and SEC. For the ACC and Big 12, Clemson simply has to play well enough and they should cruise to 12-0 and a spot in the CFP, while Oklahoma’s only real challenger is Baylor, currently 6-0.

The Pac-12 still has an outside shot in Oregon, but with Clemson virtually a lock, potentially 2 SEC teams and the Big Ten Champion there isn’t much room.

As teams complete week 7 of 14, the real contenders will show their worth in the second half of the season. The pretenders will begin to fade away in the home stretch of the college football season. But football will continue to entertain all of us as fans.
