Clemson:  Trevor Lawrence is arguably the best QB in the country but he has not looked the part just yet this season. I do expect him to step into his own, but he will need to do so if the Tigers wish to repeat. He has looked shaky and has already thrown more interceptions through three games than he did all of last season.

Clemson also lost their entire defensive line to the NFL after a spectacular run that resulted in two National Titles. However, I think this is the year the talent turnover hits them — much like the Buckeyes in 2018.

More from Ohio State Football

Travis Etienne is an elite RB but I don’t see him and Lawrence able to defeat a tier 1 team by themselves. I don’t think Clemson has the defense to return to the National Championship this year, though I do expect the Tigers to return to the playoff unbeaten.

The ACC is simply too weak to compete with Clemson, but the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma are not.

Frankly, I can see any of those six teams winning the title this year and I personally feel as though they are nearly interchangeable in the rankings. I know many people will disagree, but I truly feel the gap has closed and the race to the top is wide open between the top six teams.

All can win the National Championship. Some have a better chance, but nonetheless have the ability.

This has the makings to be one of the greatest seasons in recent memory. Remember one thing, college football never disappoints.
