The defense was lights out again. There aren’t too many adjectives fit enough to describe the joy Buckeye Nation is feeling knowing the defense is stifling. Chase Young and company recorded five sacks against the Hoosiers and only allowed 257 yards of total offense.

Damon Arnette stayed in school and was rewarded today as he jumped an out route and took it 96 yards the other way for a pick six that was the exclamation point to this outstanding three game start.

The Buckeyes entered the year with the mentality that last year wasn’t good enough. A 13-1 record that brought Big Ten Championship and Rose Bowl victories, yet Ohio State wasn’t satisfied.

For one, that gives an accurate idea of the standard and expectations in Columbus.

It also served as motivation for this season. The Buckeyes have felt disrespected by the selection committee in each of the last two seasons.

Players like KJ Hill and Damon Arnette returned to school for the very reason of completing unfinished business. It certainly appears that’s what is driving these Buckeyes who have defeated FAU, Cincinnati and Indiana soundly.

Step by step, week by week Ohio State is working toward their season goals of winning the rivalry game, getting to Indianapolis and earning a bid in the College Football Playoff. There is zero doubt Ohio State is among the four best teams in the country and as they continue to prove it.

The country better take heed because as of Saturday Ohio State officially put the country on notice. The Buckeyes are coming, and fast too.
