Q: Is Jonathan Taylor the favorite for the Heisman (so far) this season?

Jonathan Taylor is the best running back in college football but Wisconsin has yet to play a formidable opponent this season. After he faces the Wolverines I will be able to appropriately rank him. For now, he is just in my top 5.

  1. Joe Burrow
  2. Jalen Hurts
  3. Justin Fields
  4. Tua Tagovailoa
  5. Jonathan Taylor

Wisconsin has yet to allow a single point through two games and have played stellar football to the surprise of many. The Badgers are a team who were sort of written off in the summer but immediately showed they’re still here.

A win in Madison over the Wolverines would bolster their 2019 campaign and put them on the map and in the class of potential teams in the playoff hunt.

Q: After seeing Nebraska’s pass defense, and giving up yards to a (very good running game) against Colorado are the Cornhuskers out classed in the Big Ten this season?

More from Ohio State Football

Preseason I selected Nebraska as the winner of the Big Ten West, but unlike everyone else I’m not jumping ship just yet or soon for that matter. The Cornhuskers still possess the easiest schedule in their division and only have Ohio State as a difficult crossover game as they avoid the other three powerhouses.

Additionally, the disappointing Colorado loss does not count against them in conference play. If Nebraska plays like they did on Saturday they may struggle with the more talented Big Ten teams.

But since the Cornhuskers have a favorable schedule I believe they will improve each week under Scott Frost and set up a showdown in Lincoln against the Badgers later in the season with the West on the line.

Lastly, Adrian Martinez is a standout QB who has the capability to take this team to the next level. I expected him to do it a few weeks ago when I made my predictions. I will stick with it as he will grow and develop each week as his team continues to buy into Frost’s vision and culture.
