A: In every NFL draft teams desperate for a quarterback, most notably the Cleveland Browns, overvalue prospects in hopes they can turn around their organization. Regardless of Will Grier’s play, I believe he will be looked at in the first round of the draft.
Grier has been playing at a high level though, so he has earned at least consideration of becoming a potential first round selection.
Q: UCF actually dropped in the standings…what do they need to do to get respect? And if you say play a tougher schedule, how can they?
A: There are many factors outside of UCF’s control such as opponents not being as good as anticipated or playing in a non power five conference. However, the Knights have only beaten one team with a winning record and have given up a ton of yards on defense.
This year’s UCF team is not as good as last year’s, so predict them to lose a game in the coming weeks, most likely against Cincinnati. The Knights can only continue to win to gain respect because it will be a forced issue at some point to try to schedule tougher, big name opponents in the future. Then win their bowl games and impress the country when on the national stage.
