6. Florida

Rank Last Week: 7

Week 9 Result: Bye

Upcoming Week: Away @ Georgia

Florida is still riding high in the SEC, and after handing LSU their only loss of the season looks to continue riding high with a victory over Georgia.

This game is in Athens, Georgia and holds the implications of who will win the SEC East and take their spot in the SEC East Championship game. As usual the Gators have a strong defense that ranks 14th in the nation in opponent points per game.

They will look to put a damper on the Bulldog’s playoff hopes and hand them their second loss of the season.

5. LSU

Rank Last Week: 6

Week 9 Result: Win vs Mississippi State 19-3

Upcoming Week: Bye

After losing their first game of the season to a ranked Florida team, LSU has now won two games in a row against ranked teams with wins over Georgia and Mississippi State. The Tiger defense was dominant against the Bulldogs only allowing 59 passing yards but showed a bit of a hole in their defense against the run allowing 201 rushing yards.

Luckily for LSU it’s a bye week before taking on Alabama in a mammoth of a game in the SEC.  However, the Tigers are going to need to do much better offensively if they wish to beat the Crimson Tide, which ranks first in scoring margin and points per game.

LSU was out gained by Georgia and will be scheming in their bye week to make sure that doesn’t happen against Alabama.
