Dwayne Haskins continues to shine as the Ohio State QB. The Buckeyes star had a huge day against Minnesota with 33 completions, 412 passing yards and three touchdowns. He became the first Buckeye quarterback to throw for at least 400 yards twice in his career.
Last week against the Hoosier defense, Haskins was three yards short of breaking Art Schlichter’s single game passing record of 458 yards. After week 7, Haskins is the FBS leader in passing touchdowns with 28 and he ranks third among all FBS quarterbacks in passing yards with 2,331 yards.
Compare Haskins’ stats through the first 7 games with the current candidates and then see how they stack up with the last two Heisman Trophy winners.
Here are Lamar Jackson Jackson’s and Baker Mayfield’s stats through seven games as reported by All-American Game via twitter.
- 2016 Lamar Jackson: 2,161 yards, 18 TD
- 2017 Baker Mayfield: 2,347 yards, 19 TD
His stats speak for themselves. The Buckeyes’ sophomore QB clearly deserves to be atop of the Heisman Watch at this point in the season.
