Q: Who [has] the easier schedule or better shot to win out – [Ohio State] or [Penn State]?

A: Below is a schedule breakdown highlighting the key games remaining on both Ohio State’s and Penn State’s slate.

Ohio State: @ Purdue, @ Michigan State, Michigan

Penn State: Michigan State, Iowa, @ Michigan, Wisconsin

Overall, Ohio State has tougher schedule from top to bottom, but for as far as what is left, I have to give the edge to the Nittany Lions despite only have to play one meaningful road game, at Michigan, the rest of the way.

Q: At this point, Ohio State gets in the [playoff]…who do you see Penn State playing in the Rose Bowl?

A: Assuming Ohio State clinches a berth in the playoff, the Rose Bowl will be left open for an at-large bid from the Big Ten. Not to disappoint in any way, but there is a real shot the Nittany Lions can stumble again this year despite having three of the four remaining big games at home.

I believe Penn State beats Michigan State, Iowa and Wisconsin. So the matchup in the Big House will determine who goes to the Rose Bowl. Either an 11-1 Penn State team or a 10-2 Michigan with losses to two other playoff teams.

I believe the Pac-12 representative who will draw either Penn State or Michigan will be Washington. Bryce Love is having recurring injuries and Stanford cannot seem to stay afloat without him in the lineup. The Huskies are a complete football team and I believe they will win a weakened Pac-12 and make an appearance in the Rose Bowl.
