Michigan State has a bye this week so there are only two games played by contenders for the Big Ten East title. The Spartans may not be contending for the title anyway if their performances the first two games are an indication of how they will play the rest of the season .

Kent State at Penn State

The Nittany Lions’ woke up in the second half last week against Pitt.  This game will get ugly quickly.  Penn State roars to a 55-7 win.

SMU at Michigan

The Wolverines finally got going after a nine-month hiatus in the win over Western Michigan last week. I think it will make it two-in-a-row because SMU’s defense is ranked No. 122 in scoring in the FBS allowing 44 points-per-game.

Michigan 48-10
