It should be fun to watch these two Buckeye wide receivers on the same NFL team.

The NFL free agency signings are in full swing and Ted Ginn Jr. has agreed to a three-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. He will be lining up on the outside with former Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas. With this dynamic duo, the Saints should be a fun team for Buckeye fans to watch next season.

While playing for the Carolina Panthers the last two years, Ginn had his best back to back seasons in the NFL. He caught 98 passes for 1,491 yards and 14 touchdowns during that stretch.

Ginn also caught TD passes of 74 and 88 yards so he still has the speed to get deep. That will certainly help keep teams from constantly double teaming Thomas, so he may improve on his 92 receptions for 1,137 yards and 9 touchdowns last season.

The happiest guy in the NFL right now may be Drew Brees. Don’t you think the Saints quarterback likes the prospect of having this Buckeye combo to throw the ball to?

There are other former Ohio State players who have earned some money in this year’s free agent market so far as well. One of them will be reunited with a former Buckeye teammate.

More from Scarlet and Game

Corey Brown:  Brown signed a one year contract to play with the Buffalo Bills. He is the only proven wide receiver to play opposite of Sammy Watkins, so this is an opportunity for Brown to get his career headed back in the right direction. Some have speculated that Cardale Jones may be the guy throwing him the ball at some point next season.

Terrelle Pryor:  Pryor turned down a four-year contract with the Cleveland Browns to sign a one year deal with the Washington Redskins for a reported 6-8 million dollars. Another performance like last year’s and he will sign a huge contract in 2018.

John Simon:  After having his best year as a pro for the Houston Texans last season, linebacker John Simon parlayed that into a three-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts. It is presumed he will now be a starter for the Colts. Good job Big John.

Andrew Norwell:  The Carolina Panthers tendered a contract to restricted free agent Andrew Norwell. That gives the Panthers the opportunity to match an offer from another team, or refuse to do so and receive a second round pick in the draft. Either way, the offensive lineman who has started 38 games as a pro is about to come into a nice payday.

With more Buckeyes signing mult-million dollar contracts, and other players about to be drafted by NFL teams, it certainly doesn’t hurt Urban Meyer on the recruiting trail does it? I wonder if he ever mentions those things to a prospective recruit?
