What if Ohio State did play the Cleveland Browns?
Everybody knows about the new poll out. 62% of Ohio voters think that the Buckeyes would beat the Browns, and just 23% of Ohioans think the Browns would win.
This. Is. Stupid.
If you are one of the ones who voted that the Browns would lose, you should probably watch more football. I get it – the Browns suck. There’s actually a realistic chance that they go 0-16 this year. Seriously. Find me a game on their remaining schedule that they can win… Because I can’t.
But come on, an NCAA team vs. an NFL team?
If this hypothetical game did actually happen, it would be somewhere around a 45-0 Browns win. So, the Browns are nothing short of hot garbage this year, and the Buckeyes have looked unbeatable.
But the NFL and College Football are two different games. I repeat, THE NFL AND COLLEGE FOOTBALL ARE TWO DIFFERENT GAMES. The NFL is made up of the colleges best. Each NFL team is like a college all-star team on steroids.
Only 1.6% of College Football players make the pros.
Now, Ohio State is indeed a pipeline to the NFL, but the professional game is faster, stronger, harder, more confusing… I could go on and on. We would notice the real separation on the defensive and offensive lines.
Nothing against the Ohio State defensive line, but the Browns O-Line would push them back 5 yards every play. Isaiah Crowell would be averaging 10 yards per carry. The Browns THIRD STRING quarterback (Cody Kessler) was good in college.
And Terrelle Pryor.

Terrelle Pryor was one of the best Buckeyes to play in the Horseshoe in the last 10 years. He now suits up on Sunday’s in the brown and orange. Yeah, TP has been good this year, but he hasn’t been outstanding.
But he was outstanding at Ohio State. In his 3 years in college the 6’6 Jeanette PA product threw for 6177 yards and was responsible for 76 touchdowns. Pryor was a serious Heisman contender at OSU and a true game-changer.
This is a prime example that if you are a star in college, it does not automatically mean you are going to be a star in the pros. It’s not the same type of game.
If there was any team in college that could beat an NFL team, it would be Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes. But no, that would never happen. The NFL is so many levels above college in so many different ways.

Although it is fun to think about, it would never happen. By the way, the fact that Browns fans voted that the Browns would lose to a college team might be the most “Browns” thing ever.
