All-Decade Ohio State Football Dream Team (2005-2015)
By Billy George
Kicker: Josh Huston (2005)
This one was hard to pick between Josh Huston and Drew Basil. However, in my opinion, Huston was the better of the two. Though he only started for one season (partly due to injuries and losing the starting job to the best kicker in Ohio State history), his skill-set was good enough for him to land on this list. Huston led the Big Ten Conference in field goals made in 2005 (22 of 28) and kick scoring (8.5 PPG). The thing that drew most people’s attention, however, were his kickoffs. He recording a school-record 54 touchbacks on 77 kickoffs, essentially taking the kickoff return out of the other team’s game plan, and pinning opponents deep in their own territory. He actually had one stretch of 18 consecutive touchbacks!
