The Ohio State football team is solely focused on defeating Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Doing so would give them a chance to play for a national championship for the first time since the 2020 season. They have run through each of their first CFP two opponents, winning each game by at least 20 points.
This Cotton Bowl is being played in Dallas in an indoor stadium. That means that weather is not something the Buckeyes should have to worry about. Unfortunately, it looks like there could be some weather issues prior to the game on Friday night.
There is a massive winter storm that is going to be hitting Texas on Thursday. Some weather stations are calling for up to nine inches of snow in the Dallas area. For a state that does not handle winter weather well, that could be a disaster for getting around the city.
Winter weather could delay the Cotton Bowl between the Ohio State football team and Texas
With the weather looking like it will be so bad, there's a chance that officials will decide to delay the game 24 hours. Dallas does not have the infrastructure to deal with a winter weather event that large. There is speculation that the lack of snow plows and salt trucks could cause the Cotton Bowl to be delayed.
Of course, there is still plenty of time for the city to prepare. They might be able to get some trucks from other states in anticipation of this snowstorm. That would help them be ready in time to make traveling to the stadium safe for fans of both teams in this game.
We will certainly be watching the weather as it gets closer to Friday to see what things may change. It would be unfortunate if they had to delay the game until Saturday.
