Will Howard shouldn't lose confidence after Ohio State football team lost to Oregon
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team fell to Oregon a couple of weeks ago 32-31. It was their first loss of the season, and it was a painful loss at that. Will Howard had a shot to get the Buckeyes a chance for a game-winning field goal, but he didn't slide down fast enough to get a play off.
Howard was criticized for not being able to do that on the final play. Other than that, Howard played a pretty solid game. He threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns in the game. He also ran it nine times for 13 yards and a touchdown. In all, he accounted for three touchdowns for the Buckeyes.
Now that the Ohio State Buckeyes have had a bye week, they should be prepared for the rest of the season. They have some tough games left still. Despite the loss, Howard shouldn't be disappointed with his play. He shouldn't lose his confidence from that one play.
Ohio State football player Will Howard needs to keep his confidence
Howard has been an upgrade so far from Kyle McCord. He has been able to get the ball to his playmakers on the outside and let them gain as many yards as possible. His legs are something that McCord wasn't able to use to his benefit. Meanwhile, Howard continues to get better each week.
Despite the loss to the Ducks, Howard probably played his best game so far. He looked comfortable in the pocket and didn't look afraid of the moment. That's something that should give the Buckeyes some confidence before the Penn State game in a couple of weeks.
If Howard keeps playing well, the Ohio State football team will have a chance to win every game. The defense has to be better, of course. They need to not suck like they did in Eugene.
