The Ohio State football team lost its first game of the season against Oregon. They were playing the game in Eugene, so it was a tough game. Of course, we all know that the Buckeyes had a chance to win the game on the final drive. Unfortunately, Will Howard did not slide with enough time left in the game to kick a game-winning field goal.
Howard talked to the media over the weekend about that final drive. He says that he still has nightmares about that final play. He wanted to get a rematch against Oregon in the Big Ten Championship. Instead, he gets the rematch in the Rose Bowl.
Howard played his best game as a Buckeye, up to that point, against Oregon. Now, he's coming off an even better game against Tennessee. Howard wants nothing more than to give the Ohio State Buckeyes some revenge because it could give them a national championship.
Will Howard wants to give the Ohio State football team revenge
The passing game will be a big part of the game plan for the Buckeyes against Oregon. They want to get the ball to their big playmakers on the outside. Jeremiah Smith had nine catches for 100 yards and a touchdown against the Ducks in the first matchup. He needs to have similar stats in this one.
Howard threw for 326 yards in Eugene. He clearly knows how to attack Oregon's defense. As long as he is ready to have a similar amount of passing attempts, the Buckeyes should be in a good spot offensively. Howard is determined to put Ohio State in a better position if they get the ball last in this game.
This is the toughest game Ohio State has played this season. The winner of this game very well could go on to win the national championship. Howard is going to lay it all on the line. Will it be enough?
