Which Ohio State football player will improve the most in 2025?

The Ohio State football program only has a few starters returning from the national championship-winning team, but this player will improve a ton from 2024.

The Ohio State football program has a lot of players they need to replace from the 2024 squad. They just had 15 players get invited to the NFL Combine, so that is 15 starters who they need to replace. Of course, that also means that there are seven starters who are returning for the 2025 season.

Of course, there are players who weren't starters who still played a lot of snaps. There are going to be some players who are in a position to improve in a major way in 2025. Ohio State is going to need some improvement because of how many players they are losing if they want to have any shot of repeating as national champs.

With Spring ball just about a month away, there's one particular Ohio State football player that I'm looking at who could be the most improved player heading into 2025. It's someone on the offensive line who really showed promise during the four-game College Football Playoff run.

Luke Montgomery will be the most improved Ohio State football player in 2025

Luke Montgomery emerged as a starter during the latter part of the season. He was inserted at left guard and ended up playing ahead of Austin Siereveld, and it was the right call. He has an immense amount of talent and showed that when he was thrust into an incredibly difficult situation.

Had Montgomery been able to start all year, he would have been even better during the College Football Playoff. Instead, he was only added as a real contributor during the Tennessee game. That four-game run solidified that he should have been a starter all year.

The Buckeyes will be replacing three starters from last year's offensive line. Montgomery will certainly be the starter at the left guard spot. His talent showed that he was too good to be put on the bench. While there were some times that he got pushed around a bit, his improvement is poised to be striking in 2025.

Montgomery is going to be a great offensive lineman for a team that will have a first-time starting quarterback. Spring is going to be big for his development.
