The Ohio State basketball program is in the Jake Diebler era. He is tasked with rebuilding the Buckeyes after a disastrous last two seasons under Chris Holtmann. In order to do that, he has to recruit at a high level and bring in some better players.

Diebler has been hard at work on that front. He has already landed a few recruits. On Tuesday, he added another recruit to his credit. He added four-star big man A'mare Bynum. Bynum is a four-star recruit in the 2025 class from Branson, Missouri who can play two different positions.

Bynum is listed at 6'8 and 210 pounds as a center. While that is small for a center, he uses his body well to get position inside on both offense and to grab rebounds. He can play either center or the power forward spot at the collegiate level. That kind of versatility is what Diebler is looking for.

Bynum chose the Buckeyes over a host of other schools, including Xavier, Iowa, Colorado, and LSU. Another thing that makes him attractive to Deibler and the Ohio State Buckeyes is that he can play inside and outside. He can step out and make some threes.

Diebler wants to shoot more threes than the team did under Holtmann. Bynum can help them do that. He can help them rebound better too, which is something the Buckeyes struggled with in each of the last two seasons. Diebler wants a tougher, more well-rounded squad.

Bynum becomes the second recruit for Diebler in the 2025 class. He joins shooting guard Dorian Jones as a member of the Buckeyes. Diebler is looking to land a few other recruits in that class too, so he might not be done filling it out. We'll see what the next few weeks brings.
