What the Ohio State football team should expect from Penn State
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team did not have an ideal week. Coming directly off a bye week and two weeks removed from a one-point loss, the Buckeyes looked unmotivated against Nebraska. They barely beat the Cornhuskers 21-17 in a game that was extremely concerning.
Now, the Buckeyes have to take on the #3 team in the country. They travel to take on Penn State in a game that College Gameday will be at. Fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes are extremely concerned with what they saw on Saturday afternoon in the Shoe.
And yet, Penn State also struggled on Saturday. They looked sluggish in their own way and struggled to a 28-13 victory over Wisconsin. Drew Allar got hurt in the game too, but it sounds like he will likely be able to play against the Buckeyes this weekend. Both teams come in not playing their best football.
What the Ohio State football team should look for against Penn State
So what should the Buckeyes expect from the Nittany Lions? They aren't like some of the Penn State teams of the past few years. They are different, mainly because Allar is playing better. He's completing 71% of his passes and has 12 touchdowns to four interceptions.
Penn State has the fourth-best defense in the country in terms of yards allowed. Ohio State is going to want to get both TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins going in this game. It's not going to be easy since the Nittany Lions allow just 93 yards per game on the ground, eight-best in the country.
Ohio State's offensive line is going to be the key in this game. They were horrendous against Nebraska. They have to be a lot better on Saturday afternoon if they want to win in Happy Valley. If they don't fix some things up front, the Buckeyes are in trouble.
