Something that new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen has been known for in his career is being a good recruiter. That's part of the reason why the Ohio State football program hired him. He is someone who can bring in top talent, and he can help develop them.

Ohio State is starting to get serious about its 2026 recruiting class. They had just five recruits in the class up until Tuesday. That's when Bowen landed the second offensive lineman in this class for the Buckeyes. They were able to land in-state tackle Sam Greer.

Greer is from Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron. He becomes the second in-state offensive lineman that the Ohio State Buckeyes have added to this recruiting class. The reaction that Bowen had when Greer told him that he was committing to the Buckeyes is priceless.

Greer was visiting practice on Tuesday so he could officially tell the coaches that he was committing. After telling Ryan Day, who had a smile on his face, he walked over to tell Bowen that he wanted to be a Buckeye. The reaction that Bowen had was of pure joy and surprise.

Bowen was very happy to land the second recruit of his class. The Buckeyes are going to take a lot of offensive linemen in this class to help with depth issues, so adding another four-star tackle with Ohio ties was a priority for him and for Day. The Buckeyes simply need more bodies up front.

Greer is someone who they think can turn out into a very good player in the future. He just needs to be coached up and developed first. Once he has a couple of years in the program, the Buckeyes might have a starter at either tackle spot. He just needs to refine his skills.

Bowen was happy as every to land Greer. He's likely going to be happy when he brings in two or more linemen when it's all said and done with this class.
