As the Ohio State football team continues to practice hard in the Spring, their recruiting efforts have ramped up in the last few weeks. They are getting ready to host a bunch of recruits for the Spring Game that will happen in a few weeks. It will be more of a normal Spring Game than we thought it was going to be.

The Buckeyes have a lot of offers out for offensive linemen across the country, but especially in the state of Ohio. New offensive line coach Tyler Bowen is known as a great recruiter, and he is living up to that moniker. He already has one in-state offensive line commit in Maxwell Riley.

The Ohio State Buckeyes now have a second one. Shortly after receiving a crystal ball prediction, four-star tackle Sam Greer has officially committed to the Buckeyes. He is from Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron and has become the sixth member of the 2026 recruiting class.

Sam Greer commits to the Ohio State football program

Greer is 6'6 and 310 pounds. He is someone that the Buckeyes think has a lot of potential, even if he isn't the highest-rated recruit in the state. Bowen believes that he can coach up Greer and make him into a solid offensive lineman in a couple of years.

Ohio State needs to add a bunch of depth up front. They lost four starters on the offensive line and a couple of guys in the transfer portal. Simply put, they don't have a lot of bodies up front. That's why Bowen has offered so many kids early on in his offensive line coaching tenure.

Having two offensive linemen for this class is a good start for Bowen's agenda. He is trying to be a better recruiter than Justin Frye was while he was with Ohio State. Adding someone like Greer helps Bowen achieve what he's looking to do with the offensive line.

Ohio State is hoping to have a very full class when it comes to offensive linemen. They would love to have four or five kids in this year's recruiting class.
