Is it too early to start dreaming? Nope, not at all. After the freshman season he just posted for the Ohio State football team, people can't wait to see what standout receiver Jeremiah Smith will have for an encore in 2025. He simply was unreal last fall.

Despite being a baby-faced freshman, Smith wasted no time showcasing to everyone that he was one of the best wideouts in the country. If he was eligible for the NFL Draft this year, he'd no question be a Top 5 pick.

Fortunately for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes, Smith is just a sophomore and the NFL is going to have to wait. With that said, all signs are pointing to 2025 being an unreal campaign for Smith and the Buckeyes, who won the natty in January. Per the Vegas oddsmakers, Smith has been given +1000 odds to win the Heisman, tied for the second-best odds out there.

Jeremiah Smith currently holds +1000 odds to win the Heisman Trophy in 2025

Smith is tied with LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, while Texas signal-caller Arch Manning, getting ready for Year 1 starting for Texas, is No. 1 at +600. In the Top 5, Smith is the only wideout on the list, which is heavily dominated by quarterbacks.

This once again shows just how special of a player he is. In 2024, the Florida product posted 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and a mind-blowing 15 touchdowns. This offseason, there was speculation that he might end up entering the transfer portal, with him being heavily linked to Miami.

However, Smith silenced rumors multiple times on social media and made it more than clear that he's locked in with the Buckeyes and he's ready to help this team try to repeat as the champs in '25. Everyone in Columbus can't wait to see what he can get done next campaign. It's going to be a year to remember for him and potentially taking home the Heisman is something people can already start thinking about.
