This is a brutal blow for both players and their teams.

While the Ohio State Buckeyes weren't on the field this past weekend, several Ohio State football players had great weeks in the NFL. It continued a trend of the Buckeyes dominating in both Columbus and at the next level. Multiple Ohio State players played great football.

Unfortunately, there was a flip side to that coin. While a lot of Buckeyes had great weekends, there were a few who had really bad weekends. Arguably, no one had a worse weekend than Nick Bosa and Dawand Jones, both of whom are key starters for their respective teams.

Bosa is a former Defensive Player of the Year for the 49ers and has proven to be one of the best pass rushers in the league. Jones went from a fourth-round pick to being the starting right tackle for the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately for both, their seasons are over.

Ex-Ohio State football players Nick Bosa and Dawand Jones suffer season-ending injuries

Bosa suffered a torn ACL on Sunday, ending his season. When he got hurt, he gave a thumbs down, seemingly indicating that he knew the injury was serious. This is the second time he's suffered a torn ACL in his NFL career, having also done so back in the 2020 season.

Jones also suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Green Bay Packers. Jones has turned into one of the best offensive linemen that the Browns have on their roster. Unfortunately, this is the second time in as many years that his season will end early due to a season-ending injury.

Last season, Jones broke his ankle after eight starts for the Browns as a rookie. He has now played in just 13 games in the first two years of his NFL career due to devastating injuries. It hasn't been the best start for him in that regard.

Hopefully, both players are able to make full recoveries and play injury-free football for the rest of their careers. We wish them well in their recoveries.
