The Ohio State football team is basking in the glory of winning a national championship. They are on top of the college football world after taking down Notre Dame 34-23 on Monday night. Now, the Buckeyes have to figure out which players are staying and which ones are going.

With the season over, the Buckeyes have five days to decide if they want to enter the transfer portal or not. A few Buckeyes have already decided to enter the portal, but they wanted to stay with the team during their run to the national championship.

A couple of those players are George Fitzpatrick and Calvin Simpson-Hunt. Both of those players wanted to enter the portal but stayed with the team. Each of them has already decided where they will continue their college football careers, and they both will be in the Big 12.

Two Ohio State football players transfer to the Big 12

Fitzpatrick has decided to transfer to Kansas State. He is doing the exact opposite of what Will Howard did. Howard left Kansas State to play his final year with the Buckeyes and will be leaving college football on top. Fitzpatrick will play in the Big 12 in his next college football season.

Simpson-Hunt recently decided to enter the portal and has made his decision quickly as well. He will be headed to Baylor to continue his collegiate football journey. He is hoping to get more playing time with the Bears than he was able to have in the last two seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Surprisingly, no one else has decided to enter the portal after the National Championship. That likely won't hold, but time is running out for players to decide if they want to enter the portal. Otherwise, they will have to wait for the Spring to make a move.

We wish both players the best of luck in their future endeavors at their respective schools.
