Michigan Wolverines EDGE Derrick Moore was on one during Big Ten Football Media Days, sharing one of the wildest excuses possible for the infamous flag-planting incident after TTUN's Week 14 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes last November.

Moore claims he didn't mean to plant the flag, but that it was knocked out of his hands.

How convenient, right?

"So first, I'm going to say I was one of the guys that was involved with it. A lot of people think I was trying to actually plant the flag. I wasn't trying to plant the flag. I was actually trying to run around the field with the flag. And as (I was) running around with the flag, I got pushed and things like that. So I ended up talking trash -- next thing next. The flag ended up coming off my head. And a whole scuffle turned out," Moore said.

To his credit, Moore did concede that he shouldn't have let things get that far to begin with.

"But looking back on that, I probably got two views on it. I feel like I could have did a better job as a leader of not letting that get out like that. Pretty much just celebrating with my teammates and things like that. But at the same time, I feel like that right there is pretty much why people come to Michigan or Ohio State. It's because of rivalries and atmosphere like that. I feel like that right there is going to be a good lead going into this year again," Moore said.

Moore's statement is so brazen that it feels rehearsed in a room with his agent. What better way to get Buckeye fans talking than to further shove their faces in dirt about the latest Wolverines win and subsequent disrespectful celebrations than with textbook gaslighting?

Stay classy, Michigan. Keep those cameras on the opponent's sideline rolling and keep on with those recruiting violations, sophomoric celebrations, and laughable explanations about them.
