The Ohio State football program was led by TreVeyon Henderson for four years. Even when he came into the program as a freshman, he took on a leadership role. He quickly established himself as one of the best offensive players on the field for the Buckeyes back in 2021.

His leadership is one of the reasons why the New England Patriots drafted him in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Henderson gives them an element that they have been missing in their offense. They don't have anyone who can make big plays with the ball in their hands. He becomes the second running back to be taken from Ohio State.

That's something that Henderson excels in. Fans saw that when the Ohio State Buckeyes scored a touchdown right before halftime in the Cotton Bowl against Texas, thanks to a screen pass that Henderson caught and took 75 yards for a touchdown.

The Patriots have struggled to create big plays in recent years. They have who they believe is their franchise quarterback in Drake Maye, so they are trying to surround him with great players. Henderson is the perfect running back to pair with him.

Henderson is also fantastic in pass protection, something that a young quarterback will love. He will put his nose into a linebacker or defensive lineman and light them up. He is not afraid of contact, something that may have hurt him early in his career when he suffered multiple injuries.

Those injury concerns are a thing of the past at this point, and he is looking to continue his football career with a historic organization. Henderson knows that he can help the Patriots become a playoff contender in the next few years once they get a few more guys to help out the team.
