Saturday marks a new season for the Ohio State football program. The Spring Game will officially start the new season for the Buckeyes after ending 2025 in the worst way possible. This team believes they have a real shot to win a national championship this year.
While the Spring Game is in question because of the weather, the Ohio State Buckeyes are still operating as if it will happen. If it does, these three new Buckeyes are guys that fans should watch with a close eye. They all could be exciting when the Fall rolls around.
1. Chris Henry Jr.
Freshman wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. is one of the most exciting freshmen in a solid freshman recruiting class. He has already been anointed as the next great Ohio State receiver. He just recently shed his black stripe, meaning he is now fully integrated into the team.
Henry Jr. certainly has the size to be a great receiver. His high school tape was solid, as well. Ryan Day believes that Henry Jr. has the talent to fight for a starting spot, and Saturday will go a long way to doing that. Fans will be excited to see what #15 can do on the field.
2. Qua Russaw
The Buckeyes added 51 new players to the roster from both the high school ranks and the Transfer Portal. Russaw transferred in from Alabama as a former five-star recruit. He has a lot of raw talent as an edge rusher, but he wasn't able to put that into production on the field for the Crimson Tide.
With a defense that is losing eight starters, Russaw is fighting for a starting spot at the defensive end spot. A strong Spring Game performance would give him a shot. Fans just want to see someone on the defensive line who can consistently get to the quarterback. That's something they have struggled to find.
3. Terry Moore
Perhaps no transfer Buckeye is more intriguing than safety Terry Moore. Moore missed all of last season with a torn ACL and played his first three seasons at Duke. Without Caleb Downs, Moore is seen as someone who could potentially step into that jack of all trades role.
Moore is a very physical safety who can get downhill in a hurry. Leroy Roker has been neck-and-neck with him for that starting spot. Fans should be very interested to see what they get out of Moore now that he is fully healthy. He's someone who could really help Ohio State if he's fully healthy.
