The Ohio State football team had a lot of players transfer after the 2023 season. No transfer was as notable as Kyle McCord. We've been following him this season. He's been exactly who he was while he was with the Buckeyes, so no one is surprised with what he's done.

Not all of the former Buckeyes who left have felt success. A lot of them are struggling to find playing time at their new destinations. As some college athletes find out, the grass isn't always greener somewhere else. But for one former Buckeye, that has been the case.

Evan Pryor was a member of the Ohio State Buckeyes for a couple of seasons. A myriad of injuries kept Pryor from being the impact player that he wanted to be. A torn patellar tendon allowed other backs to pass him in the depth chart. In the offseason, he transferred to Cincinnati. He's thrived there.

Pryor was looking for a spot that could give him an opportunity for the playing time that he thinks he deserves. The Cincinnati Bearcats gave him that opportunity. He is now a key contributor for a team that is 5-2 and has just one loss in the Big 12 as they compete for the conference title.

So far, Pryor has 31 carries for 307 yards and four touchdowns. That's a whopping 9.9 yards per carry. He also has three catches for 26 yards. Whenever he's in the backfield, good things seem to happen for the Bearcats. Even though he's third in the team in carries, he leads them in rushing touchdowns as far as the running backs are concerned.

I'm really happy for Pryor. He is finally healthy and has been able to give another team in Ohio a lift. I wonder what would have happened if he had been healthy while he was in Columbus, but we'll never know.
