The Ohio State football team has been trying to land the best recruit in the country for the 2026 class for quite a while. Tyler Bowen has been busy since being added to Ohio State's coaching staff in the offseason. He has been able to land a few offensive linemen.
None of them have been as good as who they are still trying to land. Jackson Cantwell, the top tackle and the number-one recruit in the country, is someone the Buckeyes have had their eye on for a while. It didn't seem like they were going to have a chance to land him, but things have now changed.
Cantwell has now narrowed down his list of schools. He is starting to make some final decisions on where he is going to go to college. While his home-state school surprisingly didn't make the list, the Ohio State Buckeyes did. They still have a big chance to get the best recruit in the country.
Jackson Cantwell has the Ohio State football team on his final school list
Cantwell has narrowed down his list to four schools. Other than the Ohio State football program, Miami, Georgia, and Oregon are on his final list. Surprisingly, Missouri is no longer on his list. It was previously reported that he wanted to be in a smaller city.
Miami certainly doesn't fit that qualification. Columbus is bigger than both Athens and Eugene, so that might limit Ohio State's chances, too. Still, the Buckeyes feel confident that they can make a run at nabbing him. Ohio State has a couple of weeks to make a final impression.
Cantwell will make his commitment announcement at the end of the month. Ohio State has a couple of weeks to make a big enough impression to bring him to Columbus. He is someone who could completely transform the offensive line.
