The Ohio State football program is looking for the best way to move forward after completing the longest season in college football history. They played a whopping 16 games this season, by far more than any other past season. It was a grueling six months of football.

Because of how grueling the season was, Ryan Day already mentioned that Spring practice is going to start later than it normally does. They want to have enough rest for the guys who are coming back, which is completely understandable. Now, it looks like they are doing some more different stuff this Spring.

The Buckeyes will be starting Spring practice on March 17th, which is after Spring Break. That means they won't have to pause practice for Spring Break like they have in the past. They also announced that they won't be having a Spring Game, but a "Spring showcase" instead.

The Ohio State football team won't be playing a Spring Game

Instead of playing a Spring Game, the Ohio State Buckeyes are calling it a Spring showcase. It's unclear what that means at this point, but it has to be fairly similar to what they have done in the past. It will take place on April 12th, which is around the date they normally do it.

Ticket information has yet to be released. We still don't know if this will mean that the Buckeyes will have a normal kind of Spring Game. It's also unclear what this means for the quarterback competition that will be upcoming between Julian Sayin, Tavien St. Clair, and Lincoln Kienholz.

This should make fans a bit weary. Changing too many things probably isn't a good thing. Ohio State just won the national championship using the off-season program that they did a year ago. Is changing this much really that smart?

Day is firmly in charge of the program and is coming off a national title. Fans should trust his process, even though it may not be as fun for the fans this year. Once more details get released, we will bring to you information about what this showcase will look like.
