The Ohio State football team shockingly has just one player on this elite list

The Ohio State football program surprisingly was only given one player on this list of the best players since 2000.

The Ohio State football program has produced some of the best players in the last 25 years in all of college football. They have a Heisman Trophy winner and several Heisman Finalists over that span of time. Buckeye fans truly appreciate all of the players who have helped this team be great.

Despite the number of great players that the Buckeyes have produced over the years, The Athletic doesn't seem to think that they actually have as many great players as Ohio State fans believe they do. They recently did a list of the 25 best players in college football since 2000.

On that list, you would have expected to see a lot of Ohio State Buckeyes. Instead, there is just a single Buckeye on that list. What's worse is that they don't have a single Ohio State player in the top 15 of the list, which is incredibly stupid.

Chase Young is the only Ohio State football player in The Athletic's list of top 25 players since 2000

Chase Young is the only Ohio State football player who makes this list, and he comes in at 16. Young is the best Ohio State football player I've ever seen. He was dominant, especially in that 2019 season when the Buckeyes should have made the national championship.

Young had 16.5 sacks that season and finished with 30.5 sacks in his three years with the Buckeyes. Arguably, he should be higher on this list. Very few other players in the last 25 years were getting triple-teamed in order to keep them from single-handedly wrecking games.

There was no mention of Troy Smith, J.K. Dobbins, Justin Fields, Jeff Okudah, Malik Hooker, Joey Bosa, or Ezekiel Elliott. The fact that the Buckeyes didn't have more players on this list is a travesty, especially since they have won three national titles in that time span.
