Chase Young is perhaps the most dominant defensive player to ever lace it up for the Buckeyes. Would Ohio State retire his number?

It’s the offseason for the Ohio State football team. With that being said, that opens up some fun discussions we can have here at Scarlet and Game. Ohio State had a really good era of football under Urban Meyer. Most of his recruits are now gone or are now seniors.

With that being the case, I’d like to take a look at some of those players that have come through Columbus in the last few years. Ohio State won a national championship under Meyer and had an undefeated season in another. His teams were really freaking good.

Because there were so many great players, I decided I couldn’t narrow it down very much. I feel like ten is as good of a number as any to recount how many of the great ones Meyer brought into the Ohio State football program. 5 isn’t enough and 15 might be too many.

Even so, narrowing it down to 10 was extremely tough. As I mentioned, there were a lot of great players that have come here to play for Meyer. He had 6 recruiting classes and a lot of those players were four or five-star guys. He brought in a lot of talent.

To make things even harder, I ranked these recruits from 10-1 in this slideshow. Putting a definitive ranking on them was extremely hard. I also am only considering the production that they had at Ohio State. So things they did at another school or in the NFL don’t count for this exercise.

With that being said, here we go! We start with the 10th best recruit in the Urban Meyer era.
