The Ohio State football team is finished playing this season. A loss to Miami in the Cotton Bowl was unexpected and disappointing. With that loss, the Buckeyes are now focused on the Transfer Portal. Several players have decided to enter the portal and move on.

Double-digit Ohio State Buckeyes have decided to enter the Transfer Portal and try to find a new home. One Buckeye has already found a new home. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes haven't been able to land a transfer recruit yet, although the portal has only been officially open since Friday.

Ohio State is hosting a player that they are interested in at the wide receiver position, which is not a position they usually bring in transfers. Deandre Moore, a receiver from Texas, is on his official visit this weekend and could end up making a decision as soon as today.

Former Texas receiver Deandre Moore visits the Ohio State football program

Moore spent three seasons with the Longhorns. In the last two seasons, he has combined for 11 touchdowns. The Buckeyes actually got to see him up close and personal in both 2024 and 2025. In those games against Ohio State, he was held to just six catches for 39 yards.

Yet, the Buckeyes are still interested in bringing in Moore, who stands at six feet and 192 pounds. He would be a slot receiver for Ohio State next season. Still, the Buckeyes have plenty of highly-touted receivers on their roster who were highly-rated recruits. What does this interest in Moore say about them?

Ohio State has other positions that seem to have bigger holes on the roster that they could be spending more time filling. Adding a WR doesn't help them win a College Football Playoff game next season. They still need a kicker, punter, and help on the defensive line.

Even with Brian Hartline no longer involved with the program, Ohio State still has a massive reputation when it comes to developing receivers. If Moore wants to make it to the NFL and be an impact player, there is no better place to be than Ohio State.
