The Ohio State football team has had to deal with several players leaving for the Transfer Portal. In fact, the Buckeyes had double-digit players leave for the portal. The number of players who have decided to leave the Ohio State Buckeyes is significantly higher than it was a year ago.

One of the players who declared for the portal was backup quarterback Lincoln Kienholz. Kienholz decided to leave after three seasons with the program. He is looking for an opportunity to start, and it looks like he has found the place that will give him a shot to fight for the starting job.

Kienholz has decided to sign with the Louisville Cardinals after a very short stay in the Transfer Portal. Kienholz will now play for a former Big Ten coach in Jeff Brohm. Brohm will try to make a run at the ACC title with Kienholz in the mix for the starting quarterback spot.

While Kienholz has already decided to move on to another school, it's unclear if he will be able to win the starting job. During his time with the Buckeyes, Kienholz threw just 36 passes. With those 36 passes, he threw just one touchdown, and that came in 2024.

It's clear that Kienholz has some talent, but he was never going to get a chance to start while playing for the Buckeyes. He made it pretty clear before the Cotton Bowl that he was going to transfer, and Louisville is a pretty good spot for him to try and get a fresh start.

Brohm clearly wanted Kienholz badly enough to already get a commitment from him. He is going to get a real shot to win the starting job. This past season, it was pretty clear that Julian Sayin was going to win the job back in spring practice.

Ohio State has yet to land a commitment from the portal. They are hoping that will change soon.
