The Ohio State football team must do these three things to beat Oregon

If the Ohio State football team wants to win this weekend, they have to do these three things.

2. The Ohio State football team must run the ball for 150+ yards

Under Chip Kelly, the Buckeyes are a run-first team. They have established an identity of an offense that can gain chunks of yards quickly on the ground. Quinshon Judkins has been a big part of that. The transfer from Ole Miss has averaged 7.8 yards per carry so far this season.

Judkins is clearly the more explosive back between he and TreVeyon Henderson. Henderson is averaging 8 yards per carry, but has a long rush of just 12. Still, Henderson gives something that Judkins doesn't; excellent pass protection. Henderson is a superb blocker.

If Ohio State is going to win this game, they need both backs to be at their best. They need to run for 150+ yards between the two of them. Keeping the game out of Will Howard's hands is the best way for the Buckeyes to win. Howard is solid, but I'm not sure Ryan Day wants him trying to lead a game-winning drive.

Judkins and Henderson can wear down Oregon's front as well and keep the pass-rushers at bay. Matayo Uiagalelei is one of their best pass-rushers. Keeping him off balance is going to be key for the Buckeyes to keep Howard clean in the pocket. Play-action will be key too.

The final thing the Ohio State football team needs to do in order to win this game is to actually get some pressure on the quarterback.
