The Ohio State football team has ended their regular season after a 13-10 loss to TTUN. As we all know, it's the fourth straight time that this team has lost to the Wolverines. They don't look like a team that is ready to win a national championship, but they still have a chance to do so.

While the Ohio State Buckeyes won't play another game for a few weeks, a couple of big things will happen before then. First, the early signing period will start. That happens on Wednesday. Secondly, the transfer portal will open. That happens on Monday, December 9th.

When the portal officially opens, there will be more than a few Buckeyes that decide to enter. How many entries will be interesting to see because the portal is only open for 30 days. One Buckeye has already decided that he wants to move on from the program and enter into the portal.

Gabe Powers will transfer from the Ohio State football program

Gabe Powers, a linebacker, has decided to enter the transfer portal. He announced his decision on social media on Monday evening. He is a former four-star recruit from Marysville and actually was Mr. Football in the state of Ohio. Powers leaves after three years in the program and has two years of eligibility remaining.

Having Powers leave hurts, but it isn't shocking. It would have been nice to keep the local kid and have him be an impact player at the linebacker spot. Instead, he ends up leaving because he didn't get enough playing time. I can't really blame him, either.

Powers still has a lot of talent. With Jim Knowles only playing two linebackers at a time, it was hard for him to see the field. He deserves to get a shot at a starting spot. We wish him nothing but the best moving forward.
