The Ohio State football program strikes out again in the transfer portal

After initially getting some interest from the top tackle in the transfer portal, the Ohio State football program wasn't able to close the deal.

The Ohio State football program needs to do a better job of multi-tasking. Right now, their sole priority has been to prepare for Tennessee as they come to town on Saturday night. That is their first-round game in the College Football Playoff, and winning it will keep their season alive.

Their other priority should be to get quality players from the transfer portal. They have several needs for next season. They have shown interest in a few players, but they haven't had any commit to them yet. Despite their need for several players, they keep losing opportunities.

Unfortunately, the Ohio State Buckeyes have lost out on another transfer portal player who would have started right away from them. Isaiah World is the top-rated tackle in the transfer portal. We told you that he was interested in the Buckeyes. Apparently, he wasn't interested enough.

While World hasn't decided on a school to attend, we do know that Ohio State won't be that school. He announced his final three, two of which are Big Ten schools, and the Buckeyes aren't one of them.

Instead of being the left tackle for the Buckeyes, World will possibly be playing for one of their conference opponents instead. He is yet another transfer portal player that the Buckeyes have failed to get. The lack of success is extremely frustrating to watch.

A lot of Ohio State's best options are starting to fade fast. Most of the Group of 6 players who are really good have already declared for the portal. A lot of the Power 4 players on teams who aren't in the CFP have as well. Only players on CFP teams still need to enter the portal.

It doesn't look like the Buckeyes are going to have nearly the success with the transfer portal this year as they did a year ago. There's still time for them to fix that, though.
