The Ohio State football team has the top recruiting class in 2025. It's been like that for quite a while. They did a lot of work in the Spring to get commitments from really great players. They also have the second-best recruit in the entire country just an hour away, so that helps too.

While the Buckeyes haven't done much since July on the recruiting trail, that has now changed because of a major decision from a top recruit. Five-star defensive end recruit Jahkeem Stewart has decided to reclassify from the 2026 class to the 2025 class.

Stewart will now join college football next year, and the Ohio State Buckeyes are on his final list of schools. Stewart is choosing between the Buckeyes, LSU, Oregon, and USC. Those are some of the biggest brands in all of college football.

The odds that the Ohio State football team can land Jahkeem Stewart

Stewart is someone the Buckeyes would love to have. He stands at 6'6 and 270 pounds, so he's an enormous guy. Because he's so big, he can play both inside and outside, depending on what's needed. His versatility would fit perfectly with what Jim Knowles wants to do up front.

So what are the odds that the Ohio State football program can actually get Stewart to sign with them? Stewart hasn't visited Columbus since getting an offer from the Buckeyes last November. He has a visit scheduled for November 30th, which is the weekend the Buckeyes take on Michigan at the Shoe.

That is the final visit that Stewart has scheduled. They can actually make a good impression on him this weekend because Stewart will be in Eugene visiting Oregon. He also is visiting LSU on November 9th and USC on November 16th. Ohio State gets the last word, which is important.

That Michigan game is extremely important for a lot of reasons. If Ryan Day wants to be sure that he keeps his job, that is a must-win game. That could also be the difference in whether or not the Buckeyes can land Stewart. It's a game that has become even bigger.
