The Ohio State football program is known across the country as one of the premier programs for developing receivers. Over the last four drafts, the Buckeyes have had a receiver drafted in the first round in all of them. This year will likely be the fifth straight year of that happening when Carnell Tate is selected.

Because of that reputation, the Ohio State Buckeyes are able to recruit the best receivers in the nation. Jeremiah Smith is the best receiver in the country this year, as well. Everyone is wondering who the next great receiver might be after Smith leaves next year.

The Buckeyes have another five-star receiver recruit on the roster in Chris Henry Jr. He is certainly a candidate to be the next great receiver. However, there's actually a chance that the next great receiver is actually the next two great receivers.

Two new Ohio State receivers have a chance to be great

While Henry Jr. certainly has the pedigree to be the next great receiver, he's not the only one on the roster who has that chance. Brock Boyd, a freshman from Texas, has been remarkably effective this Spring. In fact, he already had his black stripe removed. Henry Jr. still has his.

Boyd might not have the same kind of recruiting ranking that Henry Jr. did coming out of high school, but he played a high level of football in Texas. He has shown so far that the step up to college football might not be as daunting as some may have thought. In fact, there's a good chance both receivers see the field this year.

Time will tell if either of these receivers will have the skills to one day be a first-round pick. Right now, Henry Jr. has a shot to be a starter this year alongside Smith and Brandon Inniss. Boyd will likely be utilized in the slot more and should be a special teams contributor.

Fans will get a shot to see how each of them looks in a couple of weeks during the Spring Game.
